Boeing is in the running to build a Russian-Ukrainian plane for the commercial market.
The US plane maker has had meetings with the Russian government over the construction of the aircraft, the An-124 Condor, a transport plane designed by Antonov in 1982.
The plane was assembled in Ukraine and Russia until 1995 when it was discontinued.
Boeing will first have to convince industry leaders in Ukraine that its involvement is necessary, as the plan has been widely criticised in the country.
In Ukraine it has been felt that work and profits will be taken away from Ukrainian workers.
