Khaleej Times -05/03/2006

KUWAIT — Jazeera Airways (K.S.C), the airline that broke Kuwait's 50-year dependency on a single airline, announced yesterday that it had flown more than 100,000 travellers in its first four months of operations, bringing it closer to its 1,000,000 traveller target for 2006. The airline, which took off for the first time on October 30, 2005 from Kuwait to Dubai, is the first private and non-subsidised airline in the Middle East.

Its entry introduced, low-fares travel, 24-hour online booking and payment (jazeeraairways.com), seat reservation at the time of booking, and SMS, book -marking it the fifth airline in the world and the first in the Middle East to introduce this service.

Jazeera Airways Chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai, said: "Reaching 100,000 travellers in our first four months of operations proves the success of our formula in Kuwait and the region."
